Critics from all over the world seems not to affect the West Indies' cricket players even to a little extent.The way it was rediculed in the previous posts for their underrated performance in the five onedayers against the South Africans would have expected the West Indians to stand up and show some guts by winning the fifth onedayer atleast.But this was not to affect the thick skinned West Indians...because even the fifth and the final onedayer at Johanesburg was let away without any serious fight.
It was South Africa once again which walked away with all the credits which saw a 5-0 whitewash,after winning the fifth and the final onedayer convincingly.Despite putting on a mammoth 295 runs on the board with a run rate just below 6.0,the West Indies never even did a glimpse of the same with the ball.A target of 211 runs from 31 overs at a rate of just below 7.0 should have been made use of by the West Indians.But...
If it was a funny decision by the Indian selectors who chose to drop Ganguly & Dravid for the ongoing CB series,more funny it was the way the West Indies selection went on.With as many as 8 batsmen in the XI member squad,it can never get worse than that!Adding to the amazement,those batsmen too were found to succumb in the first three ODI's.
It is the second time in succession that the West Indies have lost to South Africa 5-0,the previous time was in 2005.Weather it is the players or the coach who is responsible for such a debacle,god knows.But I feel it is the fans who a solely responsible for not expecting a decent show by the team.Had the same thing been done by the Indian Cricket Team,the fans reaction would have been totally different.
The only way to get set things right would be to create awareness among the fans of West Indies cricket.Hey you fans..Its time..Get up Guys!!!Ha ha ha...
