The first ODI was scheduled between India and Australia..India after their T20 loss to the same last week was under pressure of comming back at the Aussies. But once again,M.S.Dhoni & co. were not in a position to belt the Aussie bowlers.A rain hit match at Brisbane was reduced to 45 overs a side. But the Indians recovered well by scoring a decent 194 at a rate of 4.31.Thanks to some all round performance from Irfan Pathan(21),H.Singh(27) followed by a decent captain's knock from Dhoni(37)to see the scoreboard raise from 94-5 to 194.
Kudos to some superb bowling by Brett Lee who picked up yet another 5-wicket haul ending with figures of 5-27.
All thought that it was all over for India after their first innings batting debacle. But only to be mistaken.Even the Aussie batsmen were found to struggle against a bunch of talented young Indian bowlers. The score board read 51/3 after 7.2 overs-with comeback man Sreesanth and in form Ishanth Sharma who struck early blows removing the top three-Gilly,Hopes and Ponting.
Something amazing was observed by the news papers which quoted as something saying that "Rain God Saves The Match For India"
Now I ask weather it is a rule that a team facing Australia is supposed to lose?
Is it only the Aussies who can make a comeback from early blows?
Its high time that people stop assuming things that can happen to be wrong at times. Both the teams are equipped with the 11 players. Both the teams out there would have come there to give the best of their performance. If the thinking is otherwise, then why play games?Just declare the team of your choice as the winner of the contest!!
